Our Physician Assistants

In addition to Dr. Pollak, The Florida Center for Urogynecology team includes two physician assistants (PA), Shatril Harris, PA-C and Megan Parks, PA-C. Megan and Shatril are board certified physician assistants and are licensed by the state of Florida. PA’s are mid-level providers with extensive training in the medical model similar to physician training. They are capable of handling routine care and less complicated problems. They are able to examine you, perform diagnostic bladder testing, monitor your medications, monitor your pessary (a device to treat prolapse), assist you through the post-operative time period, and answer most of your questions. They can diagnose less complicated problems like a urinary infection and prescribe medications to you. Please be assured that the PA’s discuss patient care with Dr. Pollak continually throughout the day. Both Megan and Shatril are very knowledgeable regarding urogynecological problems, and can be a great resource for you at our office.

At the Florida Center for Urogynecology, once Dr. Pollak evaluates you and makes a treatment plan for you, she will often ask the PA’s to help her carry out those treatment plans. This is often the scenario for patients who choose non-surgical treatments and who may need monitoring of their medications or pessaries.

Shatril Harris, PA-C
Shatril Harris, PA-C

Shatril has acquired experience in both inpatient and outpatient care. She has experience in the family practice and internal medicine setting, developing a special interest in women’s health, specifically gynecology. Prior to joining the Florida Center for Urogynecology, Shatril worked at Baptist Hospital managing acutely ill patients and patients recovering from surgery.

While in practice, Shatril gained advanced insight into the need of greater emphasis on women’s health. Shatril is a compassionate and dedicated Physician Assistant with special interests, including urology and gynecology.

Jennifer Trupkin Pollak, MD PA
Megan Parks, PA-C

Megan Parks is another PA at the Florida Center for Urogynecology. She received a Bachelors of Science from Colorado State University. She is a 2009 graduate from the Physician Assistant Program at Barry University in Miami Shores, FL, where she received a Masters of Clinical Medical Science. She is accredited by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

During her training at Barry University, she became most interested in the field of gynecology and women’s health. When studying medicine throughout Miami Dade and Broward counties, Megan most appreciated the wide array of surgical and non-surgical options available for women in the emerging field of Urogynecology. She appreciates caring for patients in both the hospital and clinical setting.
