Jennifer Trupkin Pollak, MD is one of South Florida’s few fellowship-trained urogynecologists. A graduate of the University of Florida College of Medicine, Dr. Pollak completed her general obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Miami. Perplexed by the number of women she observed suffering from treatable incontinence-related ailments, Dr. Pollak became interested in the emerging field of pelvic floor dysfunction and entered the urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery fellowship program at the renowned Cleveland Clinic Florida. Upon completion of her fellowship, Dr. Pollak launched the Florida Center for Urogynecology with the sole purpose of providing women with expert evaluation and treatment in a private and comfortable setting. To this end, Dr. Pollak no longer practices obstetrics and instead focuses the majority of her talents and efforts on the special needs of women who have completed their childbearing. Dr. Pollak has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles relating to urogynecologic disorders and has written several book chapters on the treatment of vaginal prolapse and urinary incontinence. A member of the American Urogynecologic Society (AUGS), Dr. Pollak has made oral presentations at AUGS national meetings and in Europe and South America at International Urogyecological Association meetings. Dr. Pollak’s training at several prestigious academic centers has helped foster her commitment to clinical research, and she has completed a variety studies in areas of pelvic floor dysfunction including surgical anatomy, surgery for patients over the age of 80, C-section versus vaginal delivery, surgical techniques, and urodynamic testing. |
